From their secret headquarters (currently located somewhere in Melbourne's south), Twinkle&Jones wander the streets collecting unique artefacts and images for use in their work. Carrying at least 4 cameras, 2 sketchbooks and more pencils than most people could use in a lifetime, the pair leave no hidden gem unturned, usually dragging their findings back to their quaint studio for analysis. The rattlings of Twinkle's sewing machine can often be heard late into the night, whilst Jones is usually found out and about as early as 4am, beating the crowds to the best haunts.

Smuggling In The Old Days

We discovered a card game in the cupboard the other day, with the most amazing illustrations. Called Contraband, it's made by a company called Pepys, and seems to encourage the smuggling of everything from Perfume and Brady, to the Crown Jewels!

We're in the Australia Centre for Photography!

We're hugely excited to announce that we've teamed up with the Australian Centre for Photography to produce a unique set of 15 mini cards featuring images of Sydney with a Twinkle & Jones twist! They're available exclusively in their shop located at 257 Oxford Street, Paddington, Sydney for a very reasonable $3 a pop. Check out the ACP's website here.

3 Upcycled Money Bag Cushions

couple of weeks ago, we turned a genuine vintage Post Office cash bag into a beautiful soft cushion. Now we've done it again with 3 more "£500" bright red Post Office bags!

They're hand finished, and it won't break the bank to get your hands on one - check our online store for more details - here

Objects Of Desire : Lomo Cosmic Symbol

This is our beautiful vintage Lomo Cosmic Symbol, which was built in the USSR sometime between 1971 and 1991. She's an export model, based on the Smena Symbol (Смена Символ) - a viewfinder 35mm film camera.

Whilst colourful Lomography (the predecessor to Instagram) is certainly very apt using this camera, we've only ever shot black and white with her for some reason.

The shutter release is the long black lever directly next to the lens, which has been triggered many times by Twinkle's right thumb.

We particularly love the icons on the lens barrel used for setting the weather conditions or subject matter - portrait, family or landscape - depicted by quirky little images of people, buildings and trees.

An iconic image of this clunky little beast is now available for instant download on our Etsy store, here.

Close Up Photography of Hot Rods and Classics

We've been busy snapping some of Melbourne's finest Hot Rods and vintage automotive marvels. The Melbourne sun helps hugely with getting timeless shots, although equally this makes it hard to eliminate ourselves from the reflections in the chrome!

We took well over 400 shots, and narrowed the selection down to just over 80 which can be seen on these individual sets on Flickr, here...

We'll soon have some of these available as Etsy downloadable digital files, and will doubtless be peddling them elsewhere - if you see anything you want to buy, let us know!
